Hi there.  My name is Lorraine Hughes and I have been an Animal Health Technologist since 1992.  I have worked in many different types of veterinary clinics including a skin referral specialist, emergency clinic, caged pet clinic and a mixed animal practice.  I was the president of a 1300 member association of technologists.  Through my work at clinics I have been involved with many different people in the pet business and have a wide knowledge base of pets.   I have also been blogging for a year now although this will be my first professional blog.  I look forward to interacting with everyone, researching answers, growing and learning together. 

I currently have 2 cats named Ben Ben and Excalibur, who of course treat me like any cat does (a provider of the food).  I was the proud friend of a rottweiler named Harriet who was my companion for 11 years.  She passed away 2 years ago from a hemangiocarcoma on her liver.  Since then I have been looking for the perfect friend and I know the right one will come along.

Again I am looking forward to this new adventure and that the information shared will help the pets we love.
