The ASPCA wants to remind us that it is National Animal Shelter Appreciation week.  It was started in 1996 by the Humane Society of the US.  It was "designed to acknowledge and promote the invaluable role shelters play in their communities So drop by your local shelter, see what is happening and thank all those hard working volunteers who help animals each and every day. 

The ASPCA also has a list of 10 ways you can help your local shelter, check those out before you go there this weekend and maybe think about doing one of them.
