Dog Missing Over A Year Returns Home

A very unfortunate part of owning a pet, especially one that stays outside, is that sometimes they are lost and never found. We’ve all seen the flyers in our local supermarkets and read the adds in the paper where worried owners are trying everything to find their precious puppy or kitty. Saddly after weeks maybe even months of searching, we eventually have to move on and accept the fact that our pet is gone. More than likely this was what took place after a Pender County, N.C. family woke up one morning to find out that their beloved dog Chrissy had gone missing.

Some 18 months later Chrissy’s family would be reunited with their pooch thanks to the efforts of Detective Sgt. Britt Carter who managed to follow a few leads and find the dog living 650 miles a way in Middletown, Ohio with a woman who claims she was given the animal. According to Carter “We're not just the dog-catcher. This is what we're all about - reuniting pets with their owners. That's the exciting and happy part of our jobs. She had been a part of their family for so long. I know they really love the dog and were very passionate about getting the dog back”

While no plans are being made at this time to press charges against the woman who was found keeping Chrissy and another missing pet in her possession, you have to know that just having Chrissy back home after her 18 month 650 mile journey is repayment enough.
