Attack Snake Fails To Fight Off Police

I know there are stories out there about people who truly love their pet snakes, but it seems the only ones making news lately are either trying to steal them by putting them down their pants or are trying to get them to attack the police as is the case with today’s story. If you’ve never heard of a snake being trained to attack on comand, well don’t worry it still hasn’t happened. However one Bridgeport, Conneticut man at least thought it was worth a shot when officers showed up to break up a fight the gentleman was having with his girlfriend.

According to the PalmBeachPost, Victor Rodriguez got into a confrontation with his girlfriend when suddenly things got way out of hand. Apparently Rodriquez had enough of being in a relationship and tried to attack the un-named woman with his nine foot python. The police were called and using a key obtained from the supertintendent of the apartment complex, attempted to calm the situation. As they entered the residence Rodrieguez began demanding that the snake “Get them!! Get them!!!” Luckily officers were able to avoid being bit by the snake which made no move to subdue them. Thankfully nobody was hurt, but Rodriguez now faces a $10,000 bond and was ordered to hand over custody of the snake to the city animal shelter.

Pythons are extreamly loyal pets who are known for their ability to remain alert up until they die from disease or old age. Rodrieguez now must face the consequences of his actions and could quite possibly loose the snake due to poor conditions at the city’s shelters. Pythons require specific temperatues to keep warm, continous access to water, limited access to people, and most of all careless holding should be avoided. Oh and they don't respond on command.
