The use of a cute pooch to hit on them is nothing new to millions of women who live in the U.S. Most will tell you there are very few places where they haven’t had someone of the opposite sex make a pass at them. However things aren’t the same all over the world and for the men of Saudi Arabia one increasingly popular method of attracting the a ladies attention is being outlawed to the extreme. Instead of just making it illegal to walk your dog or cat in a public place, Saudi officials are banning the sale of pets entirely.

Straight from the general manager of the religious police Othman al-othman comes word that “the rising phenomenon of men using cats and dogs to make passes at women and pester families” is not only "violating proper behavior in public squares and malls”, but will result in those violating the  new law being turned over to authorities. “ If a man is caught with a pet, the pet will be immediately confiscated and the man will be forced to sign a document pledging not to repeat the act. If he does, he will be referred to authorities.” The goal of the law is to not only make areas such as parks and markets safer, but to continue to keep the sexes apart as much as possible. The owning of pets has never been a popular one in Islamic countries and for many is just another sign of the increasing influences of the West attempting to destroy their heritage.
