Owner Saved Thanks To Pups 911 Call

I love all the stories we come across concerning pets that are accomplishing amazing feats that you just wouldn’t think are possible. Just this week we brought news of Cloud the Black Lab that is being trained to sniff out stranded Dolphins before it’s too late and today straight from Scottsdale, Az. comes news of Buddy the German Sheppard. Buddy is the prized pup of Joe Stalnaker and was especially chosen by because he is trained to call for help if his owner has a seizure. Stalnaker was injured a decade ago during military training exercises and sense than has been known to have seizures on occasion.

It was Wednesday of last week that Buddy’s training was tested and dispatcher Chris Trott answered the most unique call he’d ever gotten. When Chris answered the phone saying “Hello, this is 911. Hello ... Can you hear me? Is there somebody there you can give the phone to?”, instead of a person on the other end he was greeted with a series of barks and whimpers. Police were immediately dispatched and thanks to Buddy, found Joe in time to rush him to the hospital where he recovered after a couple of day. According to the officer who answered the call to the Stalnaker’s residence, “It's pretty incredible. Even the veteran dispatchers - they haven't heard of anything like this.” What’s even more amazing about this story is that this is the third time Buddy has done this for Joe. When Buddy sees that Joe is having a seizure he immediately runs to a special phone and holds down the numbers for 3 seconds. At that time 911 is auto-dialed and the police are dispatched.
