The Legend Of The Panda

Every once in a while I like to take a break from the usual amazing pets strories, helpful hints, latest recalls, and bring you a little something different here on Scribble’s N Bits. Today I thought I’d tell you of an interesting legend I recently heard while taking my son to the local library. Like many, my son is a huge fan of Panda Bears and really who can blame him. Their cute, their cuddly, and though it will never happen you wish that they could some how be turned into house pets. Basically they are like life sized versions of the teddy bears we are all given to help us sleep when we are young.  Below is the story of the Legend Of The Panda just as it was told to us a few nights ago. Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

According to the legend, it all started with one little girl a long long time ago who came across a panda that was in terrible danger thanks to an approaching leopard. Back then pandas were all white like polar bears.  Seeing that the panda was about to be attacked, the little girl jumped in front of the panda and sadly was killed by the leopard. In seeing what the little girl had done to save one of their own, the other pandas covered their legs with black ash as a sign of mourning. Still deeply sadden they rubbed the tears from their eyes and even tried to cover their ears so as not to hear the other pandas crying. Everywhere the pandas touched the ash turned them black as night.  To this day all the pandas of the world still wear black in honor of the little girl that sacrificed her life to save one of theirs.
