Barney Refuses To Leave White House. Bush Next?

It feel just like yesterday that I was telling you all about the presidential dogs and how newly elected Barack Obama promised his girls “Sasha and Malia, I love you both more than you can imagine.  And you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us.”  In fact as fast as this week has flown by it could very well have been just 24 hours ago that I brought you the news. Anyway as you no doubt remember I made mention that presidents owning pups during their stay at the White House was nothing new and that President George W Bush himself owned a Scottish Terrier named Barney.

Now it seems that while the current President Bush may be relieved that his time as Commander In Chief has all but come to an end, Barney isn’t so ready to give up his seat as TOP DOG. Then again it could have been brought on by the media’s recent treatment of the embattled Bush that brought on Thursdays attack. You see it seems Jon Decker from MSNBC was doing a few reports from the White House when as he was leaving he came across the President with Barney in tow. As he bent over to give the typically docile terrier a friendly scratch behind the ears, Barney flipped out and bit Decker. While this isn’t the first time Barney has bit somebody, none of the previous incidents have caused so many tails to wag across the country has they have after this latest attack. Did the president order the hit? Did the reporter deserve what he got? Is this a new tactic that future presidents will use to control the always-intruding media? For now all we can do is tuck our tails between our legs and hope the next pup’s bark is worse than it’s bite.
