You've Got The Pet, We've Got The Prescription

We’re into our third day of showcasing all of the great things that can be found at Petsource.org and today I wanted to give you just a glimpse of some of the great articles that are featured every day. Sure we cover your typical dog and cat stuff, but we also feature a ton of information on all the other great pets out there.

For bird lovers we recently featured an article entitled “Mating and Aggression”. In the article we learned that “Birds are flock creatures, by nature. In the wild, birds live within a hierarchical community, where one flock member is dominant within the group. Although your bird may no longer live among other birds, it will still perceive all family members as part of its ‘flock’. And much like dogs within the family structure of the pack, a bird needs to understand who is dominant within its flock.”

For those who prefer their pets to be on the half shell, our section devoted entirely to reptiles had this to say about caring for baby turtles “If one decides to get a baby turtle, in the majority of cases he will go to a pet store and will choose the cutest little green turtle that he sees. but pleaser have in mind that a baby turtle it's a little more delicate that a mature turtle so there are specific turtle care aspects that you mustn't forget. Anyway, if you decide to have a baby turtle please take good care of it, try to follow all the recommendation because at that age the turtles are very demanding and helpless.”

Last but not least for those out there who are into pets of the “under the sea” variety check out this recent post on the chances of getting sick from your pet fish “Pet fish, both salt water and fresh water varieties, can get you sick from a strain of bacteria related to human tuberculosis. Although infection from this bacterium is rare, certain precautions should be taken when cleaning and dealing with aquarium water, fish and products contaminated with aquarium water. This disease is very dangerous for those with a weakened immune system.”

The next time you need some pet help from the experts, look online at Petsource and remember if it’s a pet it’s covered here.
